Manufacturing Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for direct hire position with a client located in Lancaster, NY. Salary Rate $65K-$80K per Annum with benefits. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Job DescriptionResponsible for lean deployment and implementation, cost reduction development, production readiness for new programs, methods improvement, capital expenditure justification, plant layout, operational procedures and special projects upon request.Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.1. Manufacturing and continuous improvement programsa. Assist and drive flow improvement projectsb. Work with design engineers on new product development, design for manufacturability, and house of quality deployment.2. Project Expenditure Justificationa. Analyze proposed requests for cost reduction or necessity for operationb. Work with suppliers to obtain equipment quotes3. Cost Reductiona. Analyze cost reduction possibilities and develop cost reduction proposalsb. Develop cost comparison of present and proposed methodsc. Implement cost reductions and follow-up to assure attainmentd. Conduct time studies to verify labor savings4. Documentation and Systems requirementsa. Prepare and maintain operation sheetsb. Process Engineering Change Orders.c. Maintain documentation as required in MFGPRO Education-Required- BS Degree - Engineering or Technical field with 5 years experience.Preferred- Related additional years of experience may be substitute for education.Experience-Required- Experience in a general manufacturing environment preferred. 2 years experience with lean deployment.
